Banjo Patterson - The Man from Iron Bark
"The Man From Ironbark" is a poem by Australian bush poet Banjo Paterson. It was first published in The Bulletin on the 17th of December 1892. The poem relates the experiences of a man from the bush who visits Sydney and becomes the subject of a practical joke by a mischievous barber.
Andrew Barton "Banjo" Paterson, CBE was an Australian bush poet, journalist and author. Born: 17 February 1864, Died: 5 February 1941.
Paterson wrote many ballads and poems about Australian life, focusing particularly on the rural and outback areas, including the district around Binalong, New South Wales, where he spent much of his childhood.
